To celebrate our clients’ birthday from January to March, a birthday gathering was held in April with a theme of “DIY”. The major activity is an eye-hand coordination training by creating own special birthday cake, we have also enjoyed the moment of some reminiscence activities such as singing traditional birthday songs and dancing. We wish all the elderly a healthy and joyful time every day!

Regarding the spread of COVID-19, many elderly with dementia stayed at home while regular training services was suspended. JCCPA organized a session of online brain health training for people with dementia on 18 April. Social Worker Mr Andrew Lau conducted a series of exercises and cognitive activities with the participants, for example, arms and hands stretching, songs guessing, idioms games, and laughing yoga. Participants expressed that they enjoy the programme much. It is expected that the training would enhance memory, language skills, eye-hand coordination and visual spatial construction.
