Chinese New Year Celebration Programmes

A Lunar New Year celebration dinner was organized for our elder members and their families on 1 February. Besides enjoying the delicious food and cakes, the participants also received new year blessings from the “Caishen”. Everyone enjoyed a joyful night.

In addition, a special new year program was also organized on 11 February in the day care centre. The elder members not only sang new year songs and made handcraft together to celebrate the coming Year of the Pig, but also enjoyed delicious traditional food. Lots of reminiscence and realty orientation elements were added to the program.

Jockey Club Best Practice in Dementia Care Programme

The students of the captioned program visited Ching Chung Care and Attention Home for the Aged on 16 February 2019. The staff at Ching Chung Care and Attention Home introduced how to apply Montessori training in the daily training program for people with dementia. We sincerely thank the above agency for their valuable sharing.

Group Activity Workshop

We are organizing the Group Activity Workshop on 18, 25 February, 4 & 11 March by our Training Consultant, Mr Andrew Lau. He shared the tips on preparing and leading group activities. Participants learned the skills through theory, experience sharing and practice. They are expected to apply the skills at work and to share the experience with other colleagues. The workshop will be conducted regularly, interested parties may contact us at 2946 8182. 

Caregiver Support Group

The second session of Caregiver Support Group was conducted on 16 February 2019. Mr. Andrew Lau, our Training Consultant, shared with the participants on “How to handle behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (Theory)”.

Training Service

11 February: Senior Training Consultant Mr. Kenny Chui was invited by Sha Tin Hospital to share “Advance Care Planning for persons with dementia in Psycho-social Perspective” with 50 professional staff.

12 February: Training Consultant Mr. Andrew Lau was invited by Ho Shin Home For The Elderly (Sponsored By Sik Sik Yuen) to share “What is dementia: cause, types and stages” and “Communication with people with dementia” with their frontline staff.

14, 19 & 26 February: Training Consultant Mr. Andrew Lau was invited by Ho On Home For The Elderly (Sponsored By Sik Sik Yuen) to share “What is dementia: cause, types and stages” and “Communication with people with dementia” with 33 frontline staff.

18 February: Senior training consultant Ms. Nancy Tang was invited by S.K.H. Holy Carpenter Church District Elderly Community Centre to share “BPSD management” with their frontline staff.

21 February: Training cConsultant Mr. Andrew Lau was invited by EFCC Yan Fook Church to share “What is Dementia”, “Communication skills” and “How to relieve stress” with 380 elderly.

21 & 28 February: Training consultant Mr. Andrew Lau was invited by Pentecostal Church of Hong Kong Tsz Fung Neighbourhood Elderly Centre to share “Fall management” and “How to effectively reduce the pressure of care” with 80 caregivers.
