Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing 25th Anniversary Celebration: Sweet 25 Years! Ice Cream Truck Surprise Flash Event

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Jockey Club Centre for Positive, we recently held a special “Sweet 25 Years” ice cream truck flash event, inviting elderly and public to share in the joy. During the hot summer, we arranged for a classic ice cream truck to serve delicious soft ice cream, allowing elderly to enjoy a sweet time in the heat.

The atmosphere at the event was lively, with participants not only enjoying the ice cream but also eagerly taking photos and receiving a eco-bag for the 25th anniversary, witnessing the growth and development of the Centre over the years.

Day Care Centre Activity - Steamed Rice Cake Making Workshop

To promote cognitive training and social interaction among service users, we recently held a “Steamed Rice Cake Making Workshop.” This activity aimed to provide multi-sensory stimulation and social interaction opportunities through the making of nostalgic food.

During the event, participants were involved in various stages of making steamed rice cakes, including:

  • Soaking and cooking red beans
  • Mixing and stirring the rice flour
  • Preparing molds and pouring the mixture
  • Observing the steaming process
  • Unmolding and packaging the finished product

Throughout the activity, our service users not only revisited the traditional food-making process but also practiced fine motor skills through hands-on involvement. During the tasting session, everyone enjoyed their homemade steamed rice cakes while sharing past stories, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere.

Our Centre regularly organizes various cognitive training and social activities, and we welcome public to schedule visits. For more details about the day care service, please visit our official website: Day Care Service.
