Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing 25th Anniversary Presents: Echo of Memory Exhibition Successfully Concludes
The Echo of Memory exhibition, held in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing, successfully concluded on October 10 at D‧PARK in Tsuen Wan. Over the ten-day exhibition period, the exhibition welcomed more than 3,500 visitors, including members of the public and various groups. The overwhelming response far exceeded expectations, marking a significant milestone in the Centre’s efforts to raise public awareness about dementia and brain health, and receiving wide recognition from the community.
Through innovative and interactive formats, the exhibition guided visitors to better understand dementia. The five themed zones — “Whispers of the Clover,” “Open Dementia City,” “Final Memories,” “The 14 Risk Factors,” and “Silver Footprints” — offered an immersive experience that allowed participants to explore brain functions, risk factors of dementia, and preventive strategies from multiple perspectives. On-site observations showed that visitors enthusiastically engaged in the interactive elements, creating a lively and educational atmosphere that reflected strong public interest in brain health knowledge.

Coinciding with World Alzheimer’s Month in September, the Centre continued its efforts to promote the importance of brain health by inviting several artists and online influencers (KOLs) to take part in a promotional video. Through this initiative, they encouraged the public to visit the Echo of Memory exhibition and experience this meaningful event firsthand.

Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing 25th Anniversary Presents: “Summer Snow” Film Sharing Session
Earlier, JCCPA held a film sharing session featuring Summer Snow, and had the honour of inviting the film’s Oscar-nominated director Ann Hui and director Fei-Pang Wong, to discuss the movie. Around 30 participants from various sectors joined in a lively conversation about the challenges faced by caregivers and the evolving social landscape depicted in the film.
The in-depth dialogue, titled “ Caregiving and the Self: From May to Today’s Caregivers”, sparked widespread public reflection on caregiving issues. The film vividly portrays the struggles and personal growth of the protagonist May, played by Josephine Siao, as she tries to balance the responsibilities of caring for an elderly family member with dementia and managing her own life.
Training Courses for Dementia Care
With the generous support from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant, JCCPA continues to organise the training programme for caregivers.
The training courses “Intensive Training I” and “Intensive Training II” were successfully conducted by our social worker Ms. Ally Lam on 25 October. She shared with more than 150 caregivers on the basic knowledge of dementia, including understanding dementia, communication skills, different stages of care and care planning. Our center regularly organizes caregiving skills courses for family caregivers and provides effective solutions and support tailored to their needs and challenges, aiming to alleviate their stress and foster mutual understanding.

New Season of Courses on the EDU Platform Launches
In June 2023, the Centre launched Hong Kong’s first comprehensive online learning platform for dementia: EDU. This platform offers various courses that share knowledge and care skills related to dementia through videos and interactive exercises in an engaging and accessible manner. Users can explore dementia knowledge flexibly anytime and anywhere. Each course provides notes to help users grasp key points and review care tips.
