“Empower Your Life” Sharing Session and Board Game Workshop
Our center co-hosted the “Empower Your Life” sharing session and board game workshop with “Forget Thee Not”, allowing participants to discuss seemingly serious topics such as life and death in a relaxed manner. On the day of the event, eight families gathered to engage in heartfelt and warm conversations about life.
Special thanks to Dr. Fan Ning from ” Forget Thee Not,” teacher Guo Huijuan, who traveled from Taiwan, and Pastor Huang Min, a promoter of life and death education. They used creative board games as a medium to help participants open their hearts.
During the “Life Time Machine” board game session, participants spun a wheel to draw cards representing different life stages, leading to authentic sharing of feelings.
The most touching moment was when participants drew the “End-of-Life Arrangements” card. Topics that are usually hard to discuss were suddenly shared openly and without pressure. There was no taboo, only sincere exchanges and understanding smiles. The entire process was filled with laughter and warmth.
Our center hopes that through this activity, we can accompany more families to face the end of life with a more relaxed attitude, living more autonomously and calmly.
Jockey Club Center for Positive Ageing New Year’s Reunion Banquet
On February 13, our center held a New Year reunion banquet ,”Jockey Club Center for Positive Ageing New Year Reunion Poon Choi Feast.” That day, residents and their families gathered at the center, sitting together to enjoy Poon Choi, sharing warm moments.
It was a rare occasion to reunite with family, and everyone was all smiles, creating a lively and heartwarming atmosphere. In addition to tasting traditional Poon Choi, we prepared several exciting activities, including a “Lunar New Year Food Bingo” game to test memory while having fun, and reminiscing over the past year’s happy moments with our residents.
At the end of the event, the God of Fortune made a surprise appearance, distributing lucky bags and red packets, bringing the atmosphere to a climax!
2026 Staff Lunar New Year Party
On February 25, our center held the annual “2026 Staff Lunar New Year Party,” where all staff members gathered joyfully to welcome the new year!
During the event, colleagues enjoyed a rich feast and looked forward to the much-anticipated lucky draw, elevating the atmosphere to a new high. The venue was filled with laughter, applause, and cheers, fully showcasing the joy and harmony of the Jockey Club Center for Positive Ageing family.
In 2026, we will continue to stay committed to our roles, following our original intentions, and wholeheartedly care for each elder, upholding our service philosophy of “person-centred.” We hope that our seniors at the center will experience joy and laughter daily, living a rich and fulfilling late life!
“Healing Café” Caregiver Respite Space Official Launch
Our center’s new caregiver support initiative, the “Healing Café,” officially launched on February 27! This four-session respite group aims to provide a warm space exclusively for caregivers of people with dementia, allowing them to pause and recharge on their caregiving journey.
The group sessions, hosted by our registered social worker Mr. Andrew Lau, will occur on February 27, March 13, March 27, and April 10. Participants not only receive emotional support but also have the precious opportunity to sincerely communicate and share experiences with others in similar situations. The first session was held successfully, where participants transitioned from strangers to heartfelt communicators, creating a warm and touching atmosphere. One participant shared, “It’s been a long time since I felt this relaxed talking to others; this place is truly a space to unwind.”
“曉扉” (Healing Café) is not just an event, but a commitment — we believe every caregiver deserves to be well cared for. The first round of sessions is still ongoing, and our center will continue to launch more caregiver support services, so please stay tuned!
If you or someone you know is dealing with the pressures of caring for people with dementia, feel free to contact our center, and let’s open this warm door together.
