It was led by our Senior Physiotherapist Mr. Ben Chan, who shared with over 110 family members the types of exercises that can enhance the mobility of people with dementia. He also explained important safety considerations for exercising with people with dementia.<\/p><p>The Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing regularly organizes care technique courses for caregivers, providing effective solutions and support tailored to their needs and challenges. Over 120 doctors and NGO workers attended the training on the first day.<\/p><p>The training commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Timothy Kwok, Director of the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing (JCCPA), and S.H. Ho, Professor of Geriatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine &amp; Therapeutics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Two esteemed medical consultants of the DSCS project, Dr. Au-Yeung Tung Wai, a geriatrician, a council member of The Hong Kong Geriatrics Society, and the fellows of CUHK, Jockey Club Institute of Ageing and Dr. Jenny Lee, Consultant of the Department of Medicine at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Tai Po Hospital, Deputy Hospital Chief Executive of Tai Po Hospital, and Ex-Officio of The Hong Kong Geriatrics Society, also extended their greetings to the participants.<\/p><p><span style=\"background-color: var(--global--color-background); color: var(--global--color-primary); font-family: var(--global--font-secondary); font-size: var(--global--font-size-base);\">During the training, Professor Timothy Kwok introduced \u201cthe pathology and impact of common dementias\u201d, \u201cthe prevention of hospital admission for people with dementia\u201d, and \u201chow to use technology for initial screening and follow-up\u201d.
