She shared with more than 170 family caregivers about the distressed behaviour and psychological symptoms of people with dementia and how to tackle it in the short and long term. She also addressed the questions and suggestions from the caregivers, e.g. how to deal with the delusional behaviour of people with dementia such as falsely accusing others of stealing. She provided a lot of practical suggestions to the caregivers on dealing with the behavioural symptoms of people with dementia.<\/p><p>Registration for the caregiver training course in April 2024 is now open. The April course \u201cIntensive Training I\u201d and \u201cIntensive Training II\u201d will be held on 20 April (Saturday) at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Our registered social worker, Ms Ally Lam will introduce some basic knowledge of dementia and tactics for taking care of people with dementia in different aspects. JCCPA has been licensed to provide the certificate programme in Chinese. The programme promotes professional sharing and trains up professional counterparts in the fields of medical, nursing and elderly care to become trainers and prepare them to pass on the professional learning to other frontline workers. Trainers and participants will receive a graduation certificate from the University of Stirling and JCCPA. Incorporating local care culture into the blueprint of the British curriculum, promoting a person-centred care approach. By introducing systematic person-centred service training courses and integrating foreign service models with local culture, participates are able to provide more professional and compassionate dementia care services.
