The activity was mainly targeted for people with dementia in early to middle stages. The activities provided training for members to enhance their hand-eye coordination, \u00a0concentration and exploring elderly&#8217;s interest and potential. In addition to general gardening activities, we will also work with our members together in creating some unique floral handicrafts. They introduced the free of charge ibeacon device to caregivers, and encouraged the public to download the &#8220;Dementia&#8217;s Secret Angel&#8221; app together. The April &#8220;1+2 Family Caregivers Training Course&#8221; was successfully held on 17 April. Our training consultant Mr. Andrew Lau shared about topics for caring for people with dementia with more than 150 family caregivers. The content is rich and substantial, including basic knowledge of dementia, daily schedule and health management, communication and caring skills, community resources and care arrangements, etc. During the course, Andrew also responded to many cases and challenges encountered by caregivers, hoping to help relieve their pressure.<br \/><br \/>The next &#8220;1+2&#8221; Family Caregivers Training Course will be held on May 15 (Saturday). We are very honored to invite Dr. Chan Wai Chi, the Honorary Consultant in Psychiatry at Queen Mary Hospital and the Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry, The University of Hong Kong, to share about emotional changes of people with dementia, the application of related psychiatric drugs and the coping methods for caregivers.
